So as you know the moonsoon has arrived and most people out there will be making plans to go lonavala. But the real question is where in lonavala? Well here's a solution to your problem and it's 'Rajmachi fort'. First of all Rajmachi trek and Rajmachi fort is DIFFERENT! This trek is of moderate level.
The Fort can be reached from 3 places. I.e, from the karjat route, the thakurwadi village route and the della route. The thakurwadi village is a remote village and the road to reach is not clear. Also the karjat route requires to climb a 2000ft mountain to reach Rajmachi where as there are no directions and its easy to lose the way. Think of the Karjat route strictly if you're a professional trekker.
The della route which starts from della adventure park is much used route by the trekkers and the road is straight. It takes approximately 2 hours 40 minutes to reach the Rajmachi fort.
The three forts are Rajmachi Fort, Shrivardhan Fort, Manoranjan Fort. The Manoranjan fort is another 30 minutes walk from Rajmachi Fort.
The route is a filled with breath taking scenery and Energetic Streams of waterfalls with fog all around. The sight would be no less than heaven for trekkers! Also the 'buruj' in the Rajmachi fort is a sureshot place to touch clouds. The Fort also has a temple.
The ticket fare for Rajmachi is:
10Rs - Per Person
30Rs - 2 Wheelers
100Rs - Car jeep
150Rs - Bus
There are 5 dhabas which you can see on the way with about 1 hour distance from one another. Lunch will be prepared only if informed before. Stay facilities are available in udhewadi village.
The Train from mumbai can cost 70Rs.
The Train from lonaval to mumbai costs 55Rs.
Sumo or jeep is available from lonavala with the rate of approx 1500Rs to 2000Rs.
The rickshaw takes 100Rs to reach Della adventure Park. Getting your vehicle would be a better option to reach this place.
The Manoranjan Fort is more beautiful compared to Shrivardhan Fort so it would not be much loss if you skip it.
The complete Trek Takes 6 hours.
Pro tip: The rickshaw drivers will try to fool you by increasing the rickshaw fare.
Keep Travelling :)
