Karnala, You & the spiders

a trip to karnala fort will be the perfect destination for a one day trip for you. Situated on the outskirts of panvel, this is one destination bestowed with the blessings of mother nature. The Karnala Bird Sanctuary is situated approximately 10 kms from Panvel. In order to reach the fort, one has to travel through the bird sanctuary.
                                      
There are sharing Rickshaws available from the panvel station to reach the karnala bird sanctuary. The per person cost for these Rickshaws would be approximately 25 rupees.
The entry ticket for the bird sanctuary costs Rs 70 per person.
Also there should be Rs 100 for carrying still camera and Rs 150 for video camera paid at the counter
There is a small restaurant near the first aid room wherein if you inform them for the food, then they would prepare the food for you. Don't forget to carry ample amount of water for your journey,
P.S: Don't forget to try the "Zhunka Bhakar" of this Restaurant.

The place is filled with birds that you would have noticed never. Spiders would be your constant companion here and you will know why after you reach there.


The fort is the major attraction here. The place is ideal for a small trek.
So, tie your shoes because there's lot of walking required here!
