Jallianwala Bagh:
We might have a bitter memory when we think of Jallianwala Bagh, but its all beautiful embracing the glory of the people who sacrificed for India. There is a Amar Jyoti which symbolises the the sacrifice of people. The garden is well maintained and flashes the memories of the independence struggle. Wagah Border:
What other place is appropriate to witness the energy and love for country other than Wagah Border? Well, the place where people channelise their energy together to stand alone and be the loudest than the neighbouring country. Hundreds of people join together and cheer for India. There are marching parades, cheering hosts, and a lot of other things like this. The friendly banter between the solders is the primary attraction of the event.There are people who'd be calling out 'Wagah border Wagah border' at the market who will drop you to the place and charge around 150-200 INR per person. The Wagah Border hosts two shows per day. one in the morning at 9 am and the other in afternoon at 4 pm. Be sure to not miss this once in a lifetime experience!

Probably the only fort in the city, this fort surely enlightens us about the mighty history of Punjab. This gigantic marvel is well maintained and a great sight for travellers. The fort hosts a special light and sound show, folk dances as well as the traditional martial arts show. The fort also has a 3d theatre inside which shows a film based on Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab.
There are also a lot of food stalls in the fort as well as horse and camel riding. It also hosts some games for the travellers. Gobindgarh is located at the heart of the city, somewhat 20 minutes from Golden Temple. There are a range of ticket plans, but be sure to witness their sound and light show. Its an experience on its own.

Well, coming to a part which is mostly loved by the ladies and some men. Shopping is something which you can do anywhere in the city. However, the Saree market near the golden temple is a must visit to pick some patiala dresses and elegant sarees. You will have a variety of shops to visit to and a number of dress to choose from.
The Patiala Shoe is also a trademark of the city. One can get amazing Patiala Juti (Shoe) here. However, only if you're good at bargaining!
