Ernakulam: Probably the most important city in Kerala, this place is surrounded with temples and greenery. The roads and places are so well maintained that you ought to get surprised. The place is quiet and lively at the same time.
The Vadakkumnathan Temple
The temple with the touch of both ancient and modern architecture. It has the ambiance which one can never forget in their life. This temple of lord Shiva is believed to be created by lord Parshuram. This temple looks beautiful the more during night due to the lighting of it.
The Temple has specific timings:
Darshan time:4 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 8:20 pm



Guruvayur Temple: This temple of Shri Krishna is located in the town of Guruvayur. For entering the temple, there is a strict dress code to be followed by both males and females. The males have to wear lungi, a tradition dress of the people of Kerala and also have to be shirtless whereas the women have to strictly wear saree. The temple opens at 3'o clock in morning and is closed at 12:30 pm and also opens at 4:30 pm and closes at 9:30 pm.

Elephant sanctuary: The only elephant sanctuary of India is located at Punnathur Kotta which is at a distance of 3 km from Guruvayur. One can easily take fared rickshaw from Guruvayur to reach this place. The elephants here are mostly donated by people as a token for completion of their wishes to god. Here the elephants are not much trained. Photography is prohibited. Here, one can enjoy the sights of elephants taking a bath and their playful moments. This place Guarantees a great time to persons of every age group.
Ernakulam has many lodges and hotels of different rates. Thus stay doesn't creates a problem and north Indian food is available in some restaurants here.
