Afflatus Alleppey

Alleppey or Alappuzha is best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters. It is a network of tranquil canals and lagoons. Punnamada Lake's snake boat races are a well-known annual event.
The Only reason to visit this place would be because of the houseboats. You can find house boats here for just a round of the lake or even for a day or two. 
The houseboats here for a day cost around 15 thousand Indian rupees for night stay. One can find the booking office near the Kerala backwaters. The best time to visit this place would be between August to November. The Nehru trophy boat race is organised every year in august. 

Alappuzha beach is also a major attraction here. This beach is bestowed with breathtaking scenery and nature's blessings. The lighthouse is also a marvel for the tourists.

Vegetarian Delights:

The staple diet here is a fish and the rice cooked in coconut oil. You will taste coconut in almost every dish here. Prawns and shrimps are cooked in their own style here which is indeed very tasty.
Tapoica with Fish curry is worth to spend money on. Kurukku kalan, rice with toasted banana and yogurt also is special. Kaalan and Thoran are other delights that are vegetarian. 


Non Vegetarian Delights:

Fish is something that is found abundant here and is fresh too. So, don't get surprised if you find most dishes of fish in the menu cards.
Molagitta curry is basically the fish cooked in coconut milk and chilly with the addition of special Indian spices. Make sure you don't miss the smoked fish with steamed bread and mashed potato. The varutharacha kozhi curry and the Alleppey fish curry is just like heaven to foodies. Fish tamarind and Fish peera are the chunks of fish toasted with coconut and tamarind sauce.
